The Bible is the holy and infallible Word of God. It was divinely inspired by God, was written by holy men and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness (2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16).
The Lord our God is One Lord. This comes from Deuteronomy 6:4 and also Ephesians 4:5-6. He is the Holy One of Israel, the Savior (Isaiah 43:3). There is none beside Him (Isaiah 45:21) He is God all by Himself, the Almighty, and unto His kingdom there shall be no end!
Jesus is God. Jesus was God manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16) and in Him dwelt all the fullness of the godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9). He was both human and divine (John 1:1-14). He is the one true God: Father, Son, Holy Ghost, the Light, the Vine, the Door, the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Holy One, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, unto whom every knee shall bow and every tongue confess!
The Gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel—the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ--is the redemptive work ordained by God to save mankind (Isaiah 53:1-12). Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, and rose from the grave that through Him we might have life and that more abundantly.
In the New Birth Experience. Except a man be born again, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:15). To be added to the family of Christ, one must repent and be baptized in water in the name of Jesus for the remission (removal) of sin and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38) with the evidence (proof) of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4-8). This is the born again experience (John 3:3-5).
In Living a Holy and Sanctified Life. Our God is holy and in Him is no darkness at all. And so He commands His people to be holy (1 Peter 1:16, Romans 12:1, Hebrews 12:14) and sanctified (2 Corinthians 6:17, Romans 12:2, Hebrews 2:11). Through our obedience, we, as dear children, become His ambassadors, extensions of His love and power on earth, and also have the blessed hope of being caught away to be with Him forever! For our Lord is coming back for a church without spot, blemish or wrinkle (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Ephesians 5:27). In living a holy and sanctified life, we glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which belong to God (1 Corinthians 16:19-20).
In the Payment of Tithes and Giving of Offerings. A tithe is 1/10 of your increase and we are commanded/required/obligated to give it to God because it belongs to Him and it honors Him (Leviticus 27:30-34, Proverbs 3:9). According to Malachi 3:8-10, we are to bring all tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat (provision) in His house. If we do not, it is as if we are robbing God Himself. As the people of God, we should be more than happy to give God His due, since he blesses us so abundantly and gives unto us freely all things. An offering is by choice and should be “an offer” from the heart. We should give cheerfully and bountifully (He loves a cheerful giver), knowing He is our Provider and knowing that he will cause us to reap as we have sown (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
The Pastor is God’s Anointed Appointed for my Instruction. 1 Peter 5:1-4 gives clear insight as to a pastor’s duties regarding the church congregation. He is to teach, preach, pray for, labor with and advise the flock of God willingly and not for personal gain. He is to reprove, exhort and rebuke individuals if necessary (2 Timothy 4:2-5) for the growth and betterment of any and all in the body of Christ. As such, the responsibility of the individual is to submit themselves to godly leadership (Hebrews 13:17, 1 Corinthians 11:1), understanding that this is pleasing to God (trusting God’s choice of leadership for your life) and will benefit the individual spiritually and naturally because of their humility and will bless the body as a whole.
